Overview

You may be a member of the Class if you were a Small Quantity medical waste customer of Stericycle between March 8, 2003, and October 26, 2017, and your prices were increased as the result of an Automated Price Increase.

A $295,000,000 Settlement has been approved by the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, in the case In Re: Stericycle, Steri-Safe Contract Litigation, No. 13-cv-5795, MDL No. 2455. The lawsuit claims that Stericycle engaged in a practice of imposing Automated Price Increases in violation of the contracts with certain of its customers. If you are a Class Member, your rights may be affected and you may be entitled to a portion of this Settlement.

You may be a member of the Class if you were a Small Quantity medical waste customer of Stericycle between March 8, 2003, and October 26, 2017, and your prices were increased as the result of an Automated Price Increase. You do not need to ask for payment. Your eligibility will be determined from Stericycle’s records, and your share of the Settlement will be mailed to you automatically.

If you received a notice from the Administrator or Plaintiffs’ Class Counsel, then you have been identified as a likely Class Member.

YOUR RIGHTS AND CHOICES
DO NOTHING You are not required to file a claim in order to receive the benefits of this Settlement, including a share of the Settlement Fund. The Class Action Settlement Administrator will mail a check to you for your share of the Settlement Fund. If you do nothing, you give up the right to sue Stericycle about the issues in the lawsuit and you waive your right to object to the Settlement.

You are not required to enter an appearance in the lawsuit in order to participate in the proposed Settlement, but you may enter an appearance on your own or through your own lawyer in addition to filing an objection if you do not opt out. You can also ask to speak in Court at the Fairness Hearing about the proposed Settlement.

These rights and options—and the deadlines to exercise them—are explained in more detail in the Notice, which is available on this website. The Court still has to decide whether to finally approve the Settlement. Payments and other benefits will be distributed only if the Court finally approves the Settlement and after any appeals are resolved in favor of the Settlement. Please be patient and check this website regularly.
